Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an innovator? At The Henry Ford, we believe that everyone can build an innovative mindset, especially if we investigate and apply the lessons that historic innovators have given us. During this webinar, we will uncover some of these lessons through the stories of African American innovators like Elijah McCoy, George Washington Carver, and Rosa Parks, from the collections of the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. You’ll also learn about the Model i Framework, which will help you to reframe these famous stories and make them relevant for your students. Finally, you will gain access to hundreds of free resources from The Henry Ford’s inHub that you can use in your classroom.

Carver came to Dearborn in July 1942 for the dedication of this cabin, which Henry Ford built to honor his friend. The cabin is based on Carver's own sketches of the slave cabin in Missouri in which he was born.
