Ellen Resnek

Downington East High School (PA)

Ellen Resnek currently teaches tenth-grade World History and Advanced Placement European History, and twelfth-grade Government and Sociology at Downingtown East High School. She also teaches AP Government and Intro to Psychology through their Cyber Academy. She is the advisor to DEHS National Honor Society, Model UN, Generation for Change, Red Cross, and Key Clubs. She facilitates a cultural exchange program with Marie Kruse's School in Farum, Denmark. She also teaches the University of Pittsburgh College in High School Course; HIST 0101 Western Civilization 2. She a reader for the AP European History Exam. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts in 1988 and holds 2 Masters Degrees from Wilkes University. She was awarded the 2018 Transatlantic Outreach Fellow of the Year award at the NCSS conference in Chicago. She is also a member of the Teacher Advisory Board for The National Constitution Center; responsible for promoting high-quality, nonpartisan, civic education through a variety of activities and programs. Her passion for profession development frames her study of the Historical Record. This past summer, she attended 8 virtual seminars, leading 2 as the Master Teacher.
