Oklahoma on the Wall: Community Stories in New Deal Post Office Art – Teacher Workshop #2

Specific Date in February TBD – This in-person professional development workshop will train 15 Oklahoma educators to use Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) materials, incorporating project research, photographs, and oral histories into standards-aligned lesson plans. This workshop will emphasize teaching key elements of history, civics, and democracy through the murals, utilizing the OPTIC and SCAPE literacy strategy to support primary source analysis. Educators will learn to guide students in observing, questioning, and interpreting visual and textual sources, fostering deeper historical thinking and engagement.
